Historic Preservation demands extensive knowledge and experience to ensure designs follow requirements and maintain the integrity of the existing structure, while still meeting the demands of contemporary living. Rueter Associates Architects specializes in creating the perfect blend of historical space and modern appreciation for design. We work closely with our clients to ensure their needs are met without compromising the demands of historical preservation.
Our Historical Preservation Journey
From Marc Rueter, Designer and Principal in Charge at Rueter Associates Architects
"Years ago, I completed a renovation and addition to my own house, located in the Old West Side of Ann Arbor, Michigan. The design was featured in the Ann Arbor News, and word of the design quickly spread. Pretty soon, neighbors were calling to complete their own renovations within the Old West Side. We have now completed over 100 projects in this neighborhood alone, bringing our extensive knowledge of historical preservation and my personal experience as a former city planner to bear. We have completed everything from porch renovations to full renovations with additions. Each project has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience that helps us deliver innovative design solutions to each and every client.
Our clients represent a wide variety of style preferences, and we work carefully with each client to bring modern elements into our designs that align with the tastes of each client. As a result, our historic preservation work represents an extensive range of styles and degrees of preservation that run from maximal preservation to completely modernized internal redesigns. We delight in the uniqueness of each project, and the joy it brings to our clients in realizing their vision for their historical property."
